Description
Saint Mimiclaus is a monstrous parody and twisted mimicry of a well-known mythological figure who brings gifts during the winter holidays to children who are well-behaved. The myth of Saint Mimiclaus is similar, but inverted. Rather that bring gifts to juveniles, the mimic saint brings juveniles to their gifts.
If a little mimic has been a good mimic, it is said that Saint Mimiclaus will come and spirit them away to bring them to a cozy new home full of prey: all a growing mimic could ever want. They awaken early one crisp winter morning to find themselves out of the cold for the winter with hearty, unsuspecting meals close at hand.
Shortly after a visit from real saint, the mimic saint enters a home and swaps the gifts left behind by the former with the young mimics it is rewarding. Both have ascended to sainthood for their generosity and works of good-will towards their fellow species.
Lair and Lair Actions
The Under Pole: Saint Mimiclaus’s Lair
Saint Mimiclaus's lair is known as the Under Pole, a secluded, frozen-over section of the Underdark that appears precisely like a holiday scene, with full-sized gingerbread cottages, evergreen trees, and snow; all mimics, of course, as the real versions of these things could not possibly be found in the Underdark. Saint Mimiclaus has a workshop in the Under Pole, where all Mimiclaus's Little Helpers (also mimics) spend their year making all of the gifts (more mimics) Mimiclaus will deliver that year.
Mimiclaus's Little Helpers
The Under Pole is densely populated with Saint Mimiclaus's little helpers: helper-elf mimics and reindeer mimics, as well as a large number of normal mimics.

Shapechanger. The mimic can use its action to polymorph into a taxidermied elk or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Adhesive (Object Form Only). The mimic adheres to anything that touches it. A creature adhered to the mimic is also grappled by it (escape DC 14). Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage.
Charge (Elk Form Only). If the mimic moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a ram attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or either be knocked prone or subjected to the mimic's Adhesive trait (mimic's choice). If the target is knocked prone, the mimic can make one hooves attack against it as a bonus action.
False Appearance (Object Form Only). While the mimic refrains from using its pseudopod or bite attacks, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary elk.
Grappler. The mimic has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.
Actions
Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage. If the mimic is in object form, the target is subjected to its Adhesive trait.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) acid damage.

Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one prone creature. Hit: 9 (2d4 + 4) bludgeoning damage.
Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Saint Mimiclaus takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects:
- Saint Mimiclaus calls out to the hibernating Gargantuan mimics imitating buildings in the lair, rousing them against invaders. Each creature within 20 feet of any structure in the lair must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, a creature takes 14 (4d6) bludgeoning damage, is pulled up to 15 feet towards the nearest structure, and is adhered to its wall by a mimic's Adhesive trait (escape DC 15) until the next initiative count 20.
- Each mimic that Saint Mimiclaus can see can use its reaction to move up to its speed.
- Until the next initiative count 20, all mimics within the lair are enraged, causing them to have advantage on melee weapon attack rolls and causing attack rolls to have advantage against them.
Regional Effects
The region containing Saint Mimiclaus's lair is influenced by its presence, which creates one or more of the following effects:
- The area within 1 mile of the lair is densely populated with evergreen trees, giant candy canes, snow, and other winter-holiday themed objects and structures that are entirely atypical of the Underdark.
- Nearly every object or structure within 1 mile of the lair is actually a mimic.
- All mimics within 1 mile of the lair report the approach of any non-mimic creature they see to the Under Pole. The information arrives in 1d6 minutes.
If Saint Mimiclaus dies, these effects fade in 1d4 weeks.
