Amphibious. The yu lung can breathe air and water.
Multiattack. The yu lung makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d10 + 2) piercing damage.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 2) slashing damage.
Steam Breath (Recharge 5–6). The yu lung exhales scalding steam in a 20-foot cone. Being underwater doesn't grant resistance against this damage.
Description
The hua lung dwell in underwater caverns of soil and rock that they build into the walls of deep bends of rivers. Food is brought downstream toward them, collecting in the pool of the bend. But they also tempt humanoids toward them with gifts both offered and set out as traps. Hua lung also persuade humanoids to do small tasks for them.
They keep small hoards in their caves, delighting most in gems and polished metals, including coin. When an item loses its luster, the hua lung disposes of it beyond the bend of the river to be carried further. Holes are carved into the bank above them by their breath weapon so that the moon and sun can shine down onto the hoard causing it to glisten and delight the hua lung. A hua lung disturbed in a moment of revering its treasure gets advantage on its first round of attacks due to its rage.
