Traits

Sneak Attack. Once per turn, the cutthroat deals an extra (2d6) damage when it hits a target with a weapon attack and has advantage on the attack roll, or when the target is within 5 feet of an ally of the cutthroat that isn't inapacitated and the cutthroat doesn't have disadvantage on the attack roll.

Actions

Shortsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage, additional 7 (2d6) piercing damage if sneak attack applies.

Bonus Actions

Self Preservation. The cutthroat can disengage, hide, or stand up from prone as a bonus action.

Reactions

Slippery. When a creature misses the cutthroat with an attack, the cutthroat can use its reaction to immediately move 5 ft without provoking opportunity attacks, or go prone. If the attack was made from within 5 ft, the cutthroat may instead switch places with the attacker.

Description

Some bandits are more gifted with the subtler approaches to theft, whether that be through pickpocketing, smooth talking, or simply putting a blade in someone's back or getting away unharmed and undetected. These cuththroats are usually as remorseless as they are conniving, and may often act as the face for the bandits when deception is required. They may lure hapless folk into seedy alleys or call for assistance on the roadside, or they may simply creep from hiding during a bandit attack and cut down a distracted foe, ruthlessly and efficiently.
NOTE: The ability to go prone as a reaction is intended for when the cutthroat is being attacked at a distance, as being prone will impose disadvantage on any further attacks made from outside of 5 ft, and may even provide full cover if the cutthroat already had low cover, however doing this is dangerous when the cutthroat is close to the melee.
