Description

Deep down on the ocean floor, in a place where knowledge is brought by the currents and waves that are spread throughout the sea. Stories long forgotten, abolished magic, ancient documents, all gathered at this location. Home to a single creature, a single lobster other than the rest, has made this collection his own, and uses his powers to further expand his collection.

Lair and Lair Actions

Argenus's lair is a maze of bookshelves and magical artifacts embedded into the ocean floor. The following effect occurs within a certain area around the lair:

In a 20 mile radius around Argenus's lair, the waves and currents of the ocean act slightly on the influence of Argenus. This primarly means that items that he would consider valuable drift towards his lair as unharmed as possible, and individuals that could be seen as a threat to his home will be crushed by the waves.

Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Argenus can use a lair action to create one of the following effects:

Argenus overloads the minds of creatures of his choice with knowledge.
Each targeted creature must succeed on a DC 20 Intelligence saving throw or take 8d8 psychic damage.

Argenus gathers knowledge from creatures of his choice. Each targeted creature must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw, or the creatures next attack against Argenus will have no effect.

Argenus creates up to 7 Glyphs of Warding within his lair, all of them being Explosive Runes. It is impossible to locate the glyphs by non-magical means.
