Traits

False Appearance. While the Deceptor remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an very beautiful but commen flower of the region.

Actions

Sting. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 16 (4d8) acid damage. If the target is a humanoid or fey that drops to 0 hit points as a result of this damage, it falls unconscious, is stabilized, appears as under the Feign Death spell for 24 hours and is implanted with a Amaranthine-Deceptor larvae (this count's as nonmagical-disease). Unless the larvae is destroyed, the Target of this effect can't regain hitpoints and animates as a Amaranthine-Deceptor Larvae-Host after 24 hours (The former humanoid/fey is still alive but unconscious). The Larvae is destroyed if the infested humanoid/fey is targeted by a Lesser Restoration ,Heal , Heroe's Feast ,Mass Heal , Wish spell or a similar magic item effect before it animates.

Floral Scent (3/Day). The Deceptor release a strong scent that targets all humanoids and feys within 30 feet of it. Each target must succeed on a DC 11 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed by the Deceptor for 1 minute. A creature charmed in this way does nothing on its turn except move as close as it can to the Deceptor. A creature charmed by the Deceptor can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Description

By mimicking and hiding among flowers, the Amaranthine-Deceptor will turn these beautiful flower gardens into death traps. They will attack living beings that get too close and plant their larvae inside their bodies.

After planting their larvae, they will slowly start to consume their just barely living host from the inside and multiply rapidly. Once the head is invaded after 24 hours the host becomes a food source for the larvae for as long as it lives and, occasionally, adults will enter through the host's mouth to feed it and prolong their survival so more larvae can grow in the host.

Amaranthine-Deceptors are even willing to depart other colonies in big groups if it means taking on a strong enemy.
