Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the dragon fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Multiattack. The Void Dragon makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit 16 (2d10+5).
Horns. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit 21(3d10+5).
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5ft., two targets. Hit 13 (2d8+5) slashing damage.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10ft., two targets. Hit 12 (2d8+4) bludgeoning damage.
Wing. Melee Weapon Attack: 8+ to hit, reach 5ft. The dragon beats its wings. Each creature within 10 feet of the dragon must succeed on a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw or take 13 (2d6 + 6) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The dragon can then fly up to half its flying speed.
Frightful Presence. Each creature of the Void Dragon's choice that is within 120 feet of the Void Dragon and aware of it must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the dragon's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.
Void Call(3/Day). The Void Dragon can call upon the creatures of the Void and summon a random Void creature to aid it in battle for 5 turns.
Void Breath. The Void Dragon exhales necrotic and acidic fumes in a 60 foot cone. Each creature in that cone must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, taking 24 (3d10+8) necrotic damage and 22 (3d10+6) acid damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Void Ray (3/Day). Ranged Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 120 ft., one target. The Void Dragon shoots out a precise ray of void-like corruptive substances at a target. On Hit, the target takes 24 (3d10+8) necrotic damage and 22 (3d10+6) acid damage. The target must make a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or suffer a short-term madness effect for 1 minute. No matter the effect, the target may repeat the saving throws if harmed, ending the short-term madness effect.
Attack of Opportunity. The Void Dragon can make an attack of opportunity against anyone moving away from it within 5ft of it.
The dragon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The dragon regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Detect. The dragon makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.
Tail Attack. The dragon makes a tail attack.
Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions). The dragon makes a wing attack.
Description
Like many other dragons, the Void Dragon is a large, winged creature, boasting a large tail and horns. It's commonly 16ft in overall length, with the tail being 8ft. At first glance, this dragon seems like most dragons. Though, unlike other dragons, its skin is a noticeable dark purple tint, with glowing purple veins coursing through its body. Its inflicted with unknown conditions, but the power it possesses comes from this infliction of unknown origins.
Lair and Lair Actions
Void dragons were previously other types of dragons before the Void afflictions infected them. Each dragon roams their previous inhabited space, though it now being a corrupted surrounding. The surrounding area will be laid with purple vein-like void substances coursing around the area.
Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the dragon takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the dragon can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- Veins of void substances that the dragon can see within 120 feet of it splash outward like a tide in all directions. Any creatures on the ground within 30 feet of such vein must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or take 22 (4d10) necrotic damage and be knocked prone.
- Magical darkness spreads from a point the dragon chooses within 60 feet of it, filling a 15-foot-radius sphere until the dragon dismisses it as an action, uses this lair action again, or dies. The darkness spreads around corners. A creature with darkvision can’t see through this darkness, and nonmagical light can’t illuminate it. If any of the effect’s area overlaps with an area of light created by a spell of 2nd level or lower, the spell that created the light is dispelled.
Regional Effects
The region containing a legendary Void Dragon’s lair is warped by the dragon’s magic, which creates one or more of the following effects:
- The land within 6 miles of the lair takes twice as long as normal to traverse since the plants grow thick and twisted.
- Water sources within 1 mile of the lair are supernaturally fouled. Enemies of the dragon that drink such water regurgitate it within minutes.
- Most wildlife within 4 miles of the lair has been twisted and corrupted and will behave aggressively towards any non-corrupted beings within this range.
If the dragon dies, vegetation remains as it has grown, but other effects fade over 1d10 days.
