Innocent Heart. Walter's infant corpse lies at the heart of the mound, wrapped in tendrils which stretch outward into the mound. If engulfed, the player can see and hear Walter within the center of the mound. If Walter's connection to the mound is severed or his undead heart is destroyed, the mound falls apart, no longer animated. Attacking the connection between the innocent baby and the undead mound requires hitting an AC of 10 and it has 10 HP.
Multiattack. If the mound's Blinding Gore attack is available it will use one of it's attacks to trigger Blinding Gore and the second to slam.
Otherwise, the mound makes two slam attacks. If two slam attacks hit a Medium or smaller target, the target is GRAPPLED (escape DC 14), and the mound uses its Engulf on it.
Blinding Gore (Recharge 5-6). The shambling mound spits blood and gore at a point it can see within 15 feet. The gore is sticky, slimy, and smells of death. Each creature within 5 feet of the splash must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or be blinded poisoned until the end of the mound's next turn.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d8 + 1) bludgeoning damage.
Engulf. The mound engulfs a Medium or smaller creature it is currently grappled by it. The engulfed target is BLINDED, RESTRAINED, and unable to breathe, and it must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw at the start of each of the mound's turns or take 5 (1d8 + 1) bludgeoning damage. If the mound moves, the engulfed target moves with it. The mound can have only one creature engulfed at a time.
Description
Made entirely of skulls and bones.
Lair and Lair Actions
Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the flesh mound can take one of the following lair actions; the flesh mound can’t take the same lair action two rounds in a row:
Ensnaring Tendrils. The shambling flesh mound lashes out with fleshy tendrils and attempts to ensnare any creature it can see within 20 ft. Each creature that starts it's turn in that area must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or have its speed reduced to 0 until the start of it's next turn.
Vomit Flesh Demon. The undead flesh mound expels 1d4 small sized undead creatures (use stat block for Manes). The creatures land in any open space within 20 ft of the undead flesh mound.
