Automated Author

Multiattack. The automated author can be make three quill slashes

Quill Slash. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: # (1d6 + 4) [slashing] damage. 

Bewildering Scripture. The automated author targets one creature that it can see within 30 ft. The creature must make a DC 16 WIS saving throw.  On a failure, they take 10 (2d6 +4) points of psychic damage and become confused until the end of their next turn. On a success, they take half the damaged and do not become confused.

Web of Words. The automated author targets a 15 ft square space that it can see within 30 ft. Glowing silver words inscribe themselves onto the floor. Any creatures within the space must make an DC 16 INT saving throw, or believe themselves to be ensnared in thick webs and become restrained for 1 minute. They can make an intelligence check DC 16 as an action to escape. On a successful save, the creature is unaffected. A creature that has been affected by Web of Words cannot be affected by it again for the next 24 hours.

Soothing words. As a bonus action, the automated author can heal itself or a creature within 30 ft, regaining 10 (2d6 +4) hit points. 

Book referencing. The automated author can temporarily increase its AC against a single attack by +2, by summoning a book within 20 ft that flies to its hand, blocking the incoming attack at the last moment.
