Description

Bone Thieves are an odd hybrid of reptile and mammal. They have scaly underbellies and a coat of thick grey fur on their backs, limbs and heads. They're native to cold mountainous regions where only the hardy and resourceful survive for long. Bone Thieves are loathed by local barbarian populations due to their all-encompassing diet including humanoid mountain climbers but they have relatively little contact with ground-dwelling creatures. They spent most of their lives on mountain cliffs, using their hooked claws to nimbly climb sheer surfaces. Their name is derived from their preferred hunting habit of peering into the nests of other mountain dwelling creatures and melting the occupants with streams of caustic acid.

They then use their sticky tongues to snatch the bony remains and consumes them with their acidic fangs. Their main diet consists of iron and protein so they are an occasional nuisance for mining companies up in the frozen north. These bug-eyed, loathsome lizards are masters of their mountain realms and few attempt to scale them without the looming feeling that is never too far away.
