Spellcasting. The Reference Librarian is a 5th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks). The Reference Librarian has following wizard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): Fire Bolt, Mage Hand, Message, Prestidigitation
1st level (4 slots): Comprehend Languages, Detect Magic, Mage Armor, Sleep, Unseen Servant
2nd level (3 slots): Borrowed Knowledge, Hold Person, Locate Object
3rd level (2 slots): Counterspell, Tongues
Ritual Casting. The Reference Librarian can choose to cast a spell as a ritual, if the spell allows. The following spells may also be part of the Reference Librarian's spellbook, and can be cast as a ritual:
1st level: Alarm, Identify, Tenser's Floating Disk
Familiar (Variant): The Reference Librarian may also have Find Familiar as part of its spellbook. At the DM's discretion, the Reference Librarian may have a familiar under its control, subject to the rules of the spell.
Spellcasting. The Reference Librarian casts a prepared spell with a casting time of 1 action.
Dagger. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage.
