Vilxus the Undead King

Legendary Resistance (5/day). If Vilxus fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Magic Resistance. Vilxus has advantage on all saves on spells and other magical effects.

Rejuvenation. Vilxus body turns to dust when he drops to 0 hit points, and his equipment is left behind. Vilxus gains a new body after 1d4 days, regaining all his hit points and becoming active again. The new body appears within 5 feet of Vilxus's phylactery, the location of which is hidden.

Necrotic Shroud. Vilxus emits a necrotic aura within 15 feet of him. Any creature within that range, other than undead and constructs, takes 10 (2d8) necrotic damage.

Spellcasting. Vilxus is a 30th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is INT (spell save DC 27, +19 to hit with spell attacks). Vilxus can cast any spell on the wizard spell list without spell slots at their base level.

Spell. Vilxus can cast any spell from the wizard spell list using an action or bonus action accordingly.

Multi-attack. Vilxus makes 4 spell attacks in 1 action. Any combination of his Death Touch attack or his Consume Shadow attack.

Death Touch. Melee Spell Attack: +19 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature, Hit: 24 (2d12 + 10) necrotic damage as Vilxus punches his target with his skeletal fists.

Consume Shadow. Ranged Spell Attack: +19 to hit, range 120/600 ft., one creature, Hit: 24 (2d12 + 10) necrotic damage as Vilxus throws a ball of shadow that ages your body temporarily.

Death's Toll. Vilxus can drain the vitality of all creatures within 120 ft of him gaining a number of temporary hit points equal to 10 x (the number of creatures affected). Those effected take 24 (4d10) necrotic damage.

Reaper's Judge (Recharge 4-6). Vilxus can target a creature within 600 ft of him and judge them for the Grim Reaper. If the target answers yes to any of his questions, they take 87 (20d6) points of necrotic damage and gain 1 point of exhaustion.

Vilxus can take 5 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Vilxus regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.

Spell (Cost 1). Cast a spell.

Death Touch (Cost 1). Melee Spell Attack: +19 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature, Hit: 24 (2d12 + 10) necrotic damage as Vilxus punches his target with his skeletal fists.

Consume Shadow (Cost 1). Ranged Spell Attack: +19 to hit, range 120/600 ft., one creature, Hit: 24 (2d12 + 10) necrotic damage as Vilxus throws a ball of shadow that ages your body temporarily.

Soul Bind (Cost 2). Vilxus forces a creature to make a Constitution saving throw against his spell save DC 27 within 120 ft. If they fail, until the start of their next turn, all damage dealt to Vilxus is also dealt to his target.

Soul Crush (Cost 3). Vilxus targets a creature and forces them to make a Constitution saving throw against his spell save DC 27. If they fail, the target gains 2 levels of exhaustion as his target soul is being crushed by the weight of the souls within Vilxus.
