Flowering Heads. The Blood Lotus has 1d4 + 1 flowers. If the Blood Lotus takes 20 or more points of fire damage in a single turn, one of its flowers dies. The Blood Lotus dies if all of its flowers die.
Plant Camouflage. While motionless, the Blood Lotus is indistinguishable from a normal, non-carnivorous plant.
Sweet Scent. The Blood Lotus produces a scent that can be smelled up to 100 feet away. Creatures with an Intelligence score of 4 or higher that is able to smell the scent must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is attracted to the Blood Lotus, as if affected by the sympathy option of the antipathy/sympathy spell. Creatures who are unable to smell or have a Wisdom score of 19 or higher are immune to this effect. On a successful save, the creature is immune to the Sweet Scent of all Blood Lotuses for 24 hours.
Multiattack. The Blood Lotus makes a number of tendril attacks equal to the number of flowers it has. Any of these attacks can be replaced with Blood Drain, one replacement per tendril grappling a creature.
Tendrils. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 14) if it is a Large or smaller creature. Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the Blood Lotus can't use the same set of tendrils on another target. The Blood Lotus has a set of tendrils for each flower it has.
Blood Drain. One creature grappled by the tendrils of the Blood Lotus must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 15 (2d10 + 4) piercing damage, and the Blood Lotus regains half as many hit points.
Description
Blood Lotuses are carnivorous plants that feed on the blood of living creatures. They produce a sweet scent that is used to lure prey to the flowers of the plant, which are disguises for the plant's mouths filled with razor-sharp teeth.
