Lair and Lair Actions
McGiddle's Factory
McGiddle's Factory is home to various toys and creations he has worked hard to make for the children refugees in the Shadow Marches. Every 3 years he comes baring new creations. This time however, in his efforts to create something truly lifelike, his greatest creation has a bit more 'life' in it then he wanted...
Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), McGibble's Masterpiece takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; McGibble's Masterpiece can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- Cotton erupts from a point on the ground McGibble's Masterpiece can see within 120 feet of it, creating a 20-foot-high, 5-foot-radius geyser. Each creature in the geyser’s area must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 7 (2d6) force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
- A tremor shakes the lair in a 60-foot radius around McGibble's Masterpiece. Each creature other than McGibble's Masterpiece on the ground in that area must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.
- Calming gases form a cloud in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point the McGibble's Masterpiece can see within 120 feet of it. The sphere spreads around corners, and its area is lightly obscured. It lasts until initiative count 20 on the next round. Each creature that starts its turn in the cloud must succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed until the end of its turn. While charmed in this way, a creature will attempt to defend McGibble's Masterpiece in any way possible nonviolently. If the creature is able to cast Mend, they MUST cast this spell on the McGibble's Masterpiece. If the creature is capable of any spell or ability to bolster or buff McGibble's Masterpiece, they may use said ability INSTEAD of Mend. If no spells are available, the creature will position itself to defend the McGibble's Masterpiece. In addition, if McGibble's Masterpiece is currently burning, the creature must use its action to put out the fire.
Regional Effects
The region containing the legendary McGibble's Masterpiece’s lair is warped by McGibble's Masterpiece’s charm, which creates one or more of the following effects:
- The scent of cinnamon is common within 6 miles of McGibble's Masterpiece’s lair.
- Water sources within 1 mile of the lair have a sweet taste.
- Every creature within 1 mile has an unnatural feeling of calmness and happiness.
If McGibble's Masterpiece dies, these effects fade over the course of 1d10 days.
