Aquatic. The adult leviathan can only breathe when submerged in water, and has disadvantage when outside of water.

Actions

Expel Salt water(recharge 3-4 turns). The leviathan sprays a jet stream of salt water from its mouth in a 5ft by 5ft line for 40 ft. anything in this area must make a dc 18 dexterity check, taking 4d12 force damage, being sent flying back 2d10 feet, and being knocked prone on a failed save, and taking half the damage, and not being moved or knocked prone on a successful one. Anything caught in the leviathans mouth is expelled with the salt water and automatically fails the save.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 12 ft., 1 target. Hit: 24 (2d12 + 4) piercing damage. 50%(coin flip) to paralyze the victim for 5-7 rounds, every turn roll 1d6 to see if the victim suffocates. if the creatures size is medium or smaller, they are grappled until they succeed on a dc 16 strength check.

Description

The adult stage of the common saltwater leviathan, measuring in at about 12-23 meters in length, their scales come in a variety of colors, usually depending on the depth and temperature of where they're born. Their jaws are lined with numerous small, serrated, razor sharp teeth designed to latch onto prey and never let go, whilst the two long, venom-inecting fangs at the front of their maws inject an extremely potent nerve toxin, causing numbness, paralysis, and eventually suffocation as the venom paralyzes the muscles required in the lungs. its serpentine body is covered in thick, sturdy scales that act as a near inpregnable armor for the serpent, defending against most nonmagical attacks. their eyes are large black marbles with blue slit pupils. These eyes are adapted to see well both in nighttime and daylight conditions, as well as in the deep sea. they're protected by a thin, waterproof membrane meant to keep saltwater out of the creatures eyes, as well as a second, stiffer, shell-like membrane meant to guard its eyes against attacks. it has a set of gills situated next to its head, as well as several fin-like respiratory organs on the sides of its head and along its back.

Lair and Lair Actions

The leviathans lair is made up of a network of chambers and tunnels, usually dug into the sand or made in an eroded underwater rock surface.
