Traits

Shapechanger. The angel can use its action to polymorph into a beast form that resembles a dove (20 ft., fly 60 ft.), otter (speed 20 ft., swim 40 ft.), or a tiny monkey (40 ft., climb 40 ft.), or back into its true form. Its statistics are the same in each form, except for the speed changes noted. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn’t transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Magic Resistance. The angel has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Actions

Longsowrd(Bite in Beast Form). Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage.

Invisibility. The angel magically turns invisible until it attacks or until its concentration ends (as if concentrating on a spell). Any equipment the angel wears or carries is invisible with it.

Read Thoughts (1/day). The angel magically reads the surface thoughts of one creature within 60 ft. of it. The effect can penetrate barriers, but 3 ft. of wood or dirt, 2 ft. of stone, 2 inches of metal, or a thin sheet of lead blocks it. While the target is in range, the angel can continue reading its thoughts, as long as the angel’s Concentration isn't broken (as if concentrating on a spell). While reading the target's mind, the angel has advantage on Wisdom (Insight) and Charisma (Deception, Intimidation, and Persuasion) checks against the target.

Description

Angels (also known as Humeraphim) are found throughout the Upper Planes, happy to do whatever needs to be done to alleviate suffering in the world. They primarily serve good masters, but it is not uncommon to see them serving evil and neutral masters in the hopes that they can sway them towards the path of righteousness and compassion.

Rivals of Imps. Angels often form millennia-long rivalries with imps. When a young wizard or warlock is just starting out, they will often be approached by an imp and an angel who will each do their best to convince the young caster of the benefits of their philosophy. Should the caster choose the imp, the angel will still visit them from time to time, always open to offering forgiveness and reconciliation to those who are willing to put their dark ways behind them and give up their fiendish allegiance.

Guardian angels. Angels will sometimes find individuals who are born into difficult circumstances and spend a lifetime looking out for that person. The individual is rarely aware of the angel's assistance, but many do end up having a sense that in spite of their tough lives, someone is secretly looking out for them.
