Traits

Legendary Resistance (2/Day). If the firebeast fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Blazing Aura. The firebeast constantly radiates an aura of intense heat and flame. Any creature that is 5 ft from the firebeast or makes a melee attack against it takes 7 (2d6) fire damage. The aura also causes all of the firebeast's melee attacks to deal and extra 7 (2d6) fire damage (included in the attack). The aura also makes that, as long as the firebeast has not taken water damage, it sheds bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 25 feet.

Actions

Multiattack. The firebeast makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d8+8) piercing damage plus 12 (3d6) fire damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d6+8) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) fire damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (3d6+8) bludgeoning damage plus 7 (2d6) fire damage.

Hurl Flame. RangedWeapon Attack: +14 to hit, range 35/255 ft., 1 target. Hit: 16 (2d10+2) fire damage.

Fire Breath (Recharge 5–6). The firebeast exhales fire in a 55-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking 61 (16d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Legendary Actions

The firebeast can take 2 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The firebeast regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Detect. The firebeast makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.

Grappling Strike. The firebeast makes a claw attack against a Large or smaller creature. On a hit, the creature takes the normal damage and must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be grappled and take 2 fire damage at the start of each of its turns until the end of the firebeast's next next turn. While grappling a creature this way, the firebeast cannot make claw attacks, and makes bite attacks with disadvantage on all creatures other than the creature it is grappling.
