Description
At the top of the spire overlooking Asphodel, in a chamber filled with bronze sculptures of supplicant creatures, stands the grotesque visage of the once-renowned Caedia. The mask of the returned that once adorned her face now lies splintered and split, her beautiful features contorted by the ardent hatred in her soul.
Given power and purpose through her following, she has gained knowledge past that of other mortals, and intends not to follow the path of Phenax and ascend to godhood, but to seek answers from the petty gods she had devoted her life to.
Saccharine lamentations flow freely out to the sky in her quest for acknowledgement, acting as a beacon for all souls that feel abandoned and despaired to unite under.
Lair and Lair Actions
Caedia's spire stretches far into the heavens, slowly growing closer to the star-filled vault of Nyx she seeks to reach. The spire is comprised from the mass of countless returned, conjoined in harmony by her music so as to form the basis for the structure.
Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Caedia commands her subjects to cause one of the following effects via the playing of an étune; she is unable to repeat the same étune twice in a row:
- Refracting Reliefs (2 actions). Claws of the returned raise shattered sculptures created by Caedia during her lifetime, these function as spell foci that allow her to cast spells from their position, as well as extending the casting range of spells 30 ft. beyond what it normally is.
- Rigorous Lockstep (1 action). The returned that form the ground extend their arms, turning the area into difficult terrain. This effect lasts until the end of Caedia's next turn.
- Fiery Instigation (1 action). The vigor of the Caedia's song inspires all of her allies. Until the end of her next turn, all allied creatures to her gain 1d6 to attack rolls and ability checks, as well as 2d4 fire damage to every attack roll.
