Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d10 + 4) piercing damage + 5 (2d4) acid damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 15) if it is a Large or smaller creature. On a failed save, the target is pulled to a space within 5 feet of the ashleaper, which can use a bonus action to make a bite attack against the target.
Aggressive. As a bonus action, the ashleaper can move up to its speed toward a hostile creature that it can see.
Description
Ashleapers are strange, three-eyed beings that look like an amalgamation of toad and dragon, with a mouth that splits open akin to a venus flytrap.
Ferocious Temper. As any Ashleaper Wrangler would tell you, a wild Ashleaper is not a creature to be trifled with; armed with tough claws, scaly hides, sharp teeth and a long, sticky tongue coated in acid, they can be very dangerous to go up against. As more than a few unfortunate souls have learnt, they are also highly aggressive and territorial when encountered in the wild, and the likelihood of an encounter with one being fatal is extremely high.
Draconic Lineage. Despite their toad-like appearance, Ashleapers have more in common with dragons than any toad. Their hide allows them to withstand immense levels of heat, and their claws make them excellent at running and climbing across the volcanic rocks and ashen wastes of the Satarian Empire.
Loyal Mounts. Miraculously, in spite of their reputation as highly aggressive and highly dangerous creatures, Ashleapers are also the main creature of choice for mounts and beasts of burden in the Satarian Empire. Once an Ashleaper has been trained and a bond has formed between the creature and its master, Ashleapers grow docile and loyal, forming bonds with their riders akin to that between dogs and their owners. This bond is then naturally passed over to any offspring.
