Saving Adaptability (3/day). If the shimmerer is about to be effected by an ability that would force it to make a saving throw, it can choose to rapidly adapt to the attack, causing it to gain a +3 modifier bonus to its saving throw against the attack.

Actions

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) slashing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or take 7 (2d6) poison damage.

Hyper-Evolution (1/Day). The shimmerer makes a claw attack by jumping onto a Medium or smaller creature it can see within 10 feet of it. The creature must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or have a small portion of its DNA/Magical Essence drained, having its hit point maximum permanently reduced by 1. Upon draining the creatures life essence, the shimmerer evolves a portion of its body to greatly resemble the creature it stole the life essence from, causing it to gain one of the creature's actions (damage is modified to include the shimmerer's Strength modifier instead of the stolen creature's strength modifier) and have all of its ability scores increased by two for the next 30 minutes. Once the duration is up, the creature (if the shimmerer is within 100 ft of it) has its hit point maximum sent to normal.
