Traits

Immutable Form. The hut is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.

Magic Resistance. The hut has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Cowardice. The hut will avoid combat at all costs, and will only fight when well and truly cornered.

Loyalty. The hut will only allow entry by those it trusts, usually those who raised it from hatching.

Jumping. Due to its long legs, the hut may leap over obstacles both high and wide. It has a 40' vertical jump, and with a running start can leap over a flat obstacle up to 60' across.

Actions

Multiattack. The hut scratches with both claws' Rake attacks.

Rake. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) slashing damage.

Bonus Actions

Jettison. When the Hut is threatened and trying to flee, if it has occupants, they may ask to be let out. If the Hut is loyal to them, it will unblock the door and allow them to leap out - however, it slows down only slightly, so the occupants must be willing to hit the ground rolling.

Reactions

Batten the Hatches. If the hut senses it is in danger, it will immediately lock and barricade the door and close all the shutters. This increases its AC by +5.

It's a Chicken. After suffering more than 5 points of damage, the hut will stand up and flee from combat by any means necessary, not stopping until it feels it is no longer being followed, nor in any danger.

Description

Once fully grown, the Chicken Hut is a Huge or Gargantuan creature, roughly 25’ when standing and 15’ when resting. It is capable of carrying up to 3,000lbs of cargo, including passengers. However, the original interior furnishing does not count, as it is part of its body. Added furnitures do count toward the limit.

Regarding pets or other animals: the Chicken Hut will carry small animals, but will not allow larger livestock or mounts inside. It is also not fond of cats, as they tend to sharpen their claws on it, but they will tolerate them if they behave.

Over regular terrain, it can travel at a Fast pace for up to 8 hours, after which it needs to rest. If its weight limit is exceeded by 1.5x, it travels at a Medium pace instead. If the weight limit is exceeded by 2x, it travels at a Slow pace. It cannot carry more than 2x its burden limit.

When resting, it is indistinguishable from a regular Hut.
