Traits

Archery Fighting Style Ashe gains a +2 bonus to attack rolls she makes with ranged weapons.

Hawk Vision. Ashe has a hawk familiar made of true ice who is constantly on watch high above her. With their telepathic link, Ashe always knows the exact location of all visible creatures in a 1/2 mile radius, and knowledge of the existence of any visible creatures within 2 miles.

Frost Shot. Ashe's attacks are magical and deal additional cold damage. On a hit, the target must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or lose 10ft. of movement speed for two turns. Each additional failed save while under Frost Shot's effect results in another 5ft. lost. Targets who have their movement speed reduced to half or less have a -2 penalty to AC and Dexterity saving throws. If the target reaches 0ft. of movement speed from this effect, they are paralyzed until the end of their next turn.

Ranger's Focus (Recharge 5-6). Ashe stacks focus from hitting the same target and loses focus for missing (cannot go below 0). At 4 stacks, she can immediately attack 2 additional times with advantage against the same target. If the target is reduced to 0 hp because of the focus attacks, she may switch any remaining focus shots to another target but does not get advantage. After the focus attacks, focus count resets to 0 and Ashe must recharge her focus. Focus count also resets to 0 if Ashe switches targets before reaching 4 stacks, but does not require her to recharge.

Sharpshooter Attacking at long range doesn't impose disadvantage on Ashe's ranged weapon attack rolls. Her ranged weapon attacks ignore half cover and three-quarters cover. Before she makes an attack with a ranged weapon that she is proficient with, she can choose to take a -5 penalty to the attack roll. If the attack hits, she adds +10 to the attack's damage.

Actions

Multiattack. Ashe makes three attacks with Avarosa's Longbow

Avarosa's Longbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, range 600ft., one target. Hit 10 (1d8 + 6) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) cold damage.

Volley (Recharge 5-6). Ashe fires magical arrows from her bow in a 60ft. cone. All creatures in it must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw or take 36 (8d8) cold damage, half on a success. On a fail their current movement speed is also halved until the end of their next turn. A creature reduced to 0 hitpoints with this attack becomes a frozen statue until it thaws.

Crystalline Arrow (Recharge 5-6). Ashe fires a large arrow of true ice in a 5ft. wide line. The first creature it comes to must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw or be hit. On a hit they take 55 (10d10) cold damage, and also must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw. On a success for that, nothing happens, but on a fail they are paralyzed for three turns. If the first creature that would be hit succeeds the Dexterity save, each creature in the line of the arrow must make the same saving throws. All creatures within 5ft. of a hit target must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw or take half of the impact damage. Can use a bonus action to then make one longbow attack.

Description

Iceborn warmother of the Avarosan tribe, Ashe commands the most populous horde in the north. Stoic, intelligent, and idealistic, yet uncomfortable with her role as leader, she taps into the ancestral magics of her lineage to wield a bow of True Ice. With her people’s belief that she is the mythological hero Avarosa reincarnated, Ashe hopes to unify the Freljord once more by retaking their ancient, tribal lands. Using her knowledge of her lands and along with her familiar, Ashe is ever vigilant and catching her unawares is practically impossible by mundane means.

She strikes quickly at threats, using her deadly aim at great distances to mow down enemies as they approach, with each hit of her magical bow making their approach that much more difficult. Ashe quickly locates the biggest threat, encasing them in ice with a powerful arrow that is hard to avoid. If any enemies survive and get too close, she releases a great spray of arrows that further slows their progress, allowing her to reposition if needed and never let them have a chance of reaching their target.

Avarosa's Bow

A legendary artifact of an ancient queen, some claim its origins are not of this world. Made of True Ice, the bow holds great power and progressive mastery of it can unlock more and more of its potential.
