Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the dragon fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Slow but Mighty. All melee attacks the dragon makes are at disadvantage, but they count as a critical hit on an 18 or higher.
Multiattack. The dragon can use its Aura of Lethargy. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 3d10 + 6 piercing damage plus 3d6 poison damage.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3d6 + 6 slashing damage.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 3d8 + 6 bludgeoning damage.
Aura of Lethargy: The Dragon releases a cloud of white-tinged gas in a 30-foot radius around itself. This cloud persists for 3 turns. All targets must make a DC 19 Constitution saving throw or suffer a point of exhaustion. Every time a player starts their turn within this aura, they must make the save again.
Poison Breath (Recharge 5-6); The dragon exhales poisonous gas in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw, taking 56 (16d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
The dragon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The dragon regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Tail Attack. The dragon makes a tail attack.
Deliberate Attack. The dragon makes a bite attack at disadvantage and with a -8 to hit. If it hits, it is an automatic critical hit.
Death Roll. The dragon rolls its body in either direction, moving 20 feet without inciting opportunity attacks. Anything that it touches while rolling must make a DC 18 dexterity saving throw or suffer 4d10 bludgeoning damage as they are crushed beneath its girth.
Description
"When most people think about dragons, they think of majestic, stately creatures that radiate power and grace. That was not what I saw today. This creature was much more homely. Rotund in shape and lethargic in behavior. Its enormous scales resembled large metal bricks and almost seemed to weigh it down more than its bulging stomach. However, this was merely an illusion. As soon as it noticed us it bellowed our direction and charged, galumphing towards us with frightening speed before belching out a choking cloud of noxious fumes. Even as we pulled masks over our faces to protect our eyes and noses, the toxins ate at our skin and lungs, leaving us vulnerable to its teeth. Thank the god's that it was too large to fit through the gap in the rocks we entered through, its own girth plugging the hole like a cork of metal and flesh. The draconic curses that followed were enough to make a sailor blush. We decided to mark this zone as “avoid if possible" on our maps." - Excerpt from "Of Flesh and Blood", speaking on observations made of Lead Dragon behavior and attack patterns.
Lead dragons are a curious dragon breed. Lacking the wings characteristic of their kind and sporting scales far heavier than other breeds, these dragons are forced to crawl on all fours in inelegant strides. Paired with their gluttonous appetite for all forms of matter (flesh, plant, and even mineral) and a naturally lazy disposition results in them often sporting large stomachs and obese body shapes that hinder their movements even more. This results in a greedy, ill-tempered beast that is incredibly territorial and defensive, assuming everything wants to steal from it and therefore must be crushed or eaten before it has the chance to do anything else. Despite their very animalistic behavior, they are actually rather intelligent. However, they care for little that doesn't have to do with themselves or their own goals and are often too lazy to share one. Only with food and flattery will you get them to talk instead of eat you, but don't expect them to talk about anything less than themselves or what they eat.
To go with this ill-tempered behavior is their noxious breath, capable of suffocating targets in seconds while their blood thickens to a consistency similar to sand. They can also exclude a gassy aura of thick gas that chokes your lungs and mind, bringing on feelings of extreme exhaustion the longer you remain close to it. When paired with its slow but deliberate attacks, you get a creature that excels at tanking damaging, and punishing anything that chooses to remain in sustained combat with it.
