Traits

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the Ogre Eagle fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Wary posture. When the Ogre Eagle reaches half or below half its Maximum hit points the Ogre Eagle as a bonus action can take the dodge action.

Actions

Multiattack. The Ogre Eagle can use its Frightful Presence. It can then make three attacks, one with its Beak and two with its Claws.

Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d10 + 8) piercing damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d6 + 8) slashing damage and the target is grappled (Escape DC 19).

Frightful Presence. Each creature of the Ogre Eagle's choice that is within 120 feet from it and aware of it must succeed on a DC 19 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the Ogre Eagle's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

Gale of Wind (Recharge 5–6). The Ogre Eagle flaps it wings in full force in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 21 Strength saving throw, taking 63 (18d6) force damage and is prone on a failed save. On a successful save a creature takes half damage and is pushed back 30 ft.

Legendary Actions

Detect. The Ogre Eagle makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.

Claw. The Ogre Eagle makes a claw attack.

Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions). The Ogre Eagle beats its wings. Each creature within 10 feet of the Ogre Eagle must succeed on a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw or take 15 (2d6 + 8) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The Ogre Eagle can then fly up to half its flying speed.

Description

These mighty beasts are rarely seen outside of their habitats. Their feathers are said to be among the most colorful showing the many colors of the rainbow. In legends it was said that these beasts could have rivaled the likes of dragons though accounts of this has yet to be confirmed. Upon observations and studies from corpses of these creatures it has determined that they belong within the griffon family in terms of biology however due to it aggressive nature many researchers that have attempted to get close it for further study will often be meet with death or at the very least suffer heavy injuries.
