Traits

Ambusher. Yopec has advantage on initiative rolls. Additionally, in the first round of a combat, the stalker has advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn’t taken a turn yet.

Critical Specialist. Yopec scores a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20. On a critical hit, the target explodes with necrotic energy and each creature within 5 feet of the target takes 10 necrotic damage.

Stalker. The stalker has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in rocky or urban terrain, and its speed is not reduced in difficult terrain composed of rubble or stone.

Siege Monster. The stalker deals double damage to objects and structures.

Topaz Claw Necklace. Creatures of Yopec's choice within 30 feet of him gain advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.

Actions

Multiattack. Yopec makes three attacks. He can use his Breath Weapon in place of one attack.

Shortsword. Melee Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 6) piercing damage.

Longbow. Ranged Attack: +14 to hit, reach 150/600., one target. Hit: 13 (1d10 + 8) piercing damage plus 11 (2d6) necrotic damage.

Desiccating Breath (recharge 5-6). Yopek exhales yellowish necrotic energy in a 30-foot cone. Each creature of Yopek's choice in that area must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 28 (8d6) necrotic damage and is weakened until the end of its next turn. A weakened creature has disadvantage on Strength-based ability checks and Strength saving throws, and the creature’s weapon attacks that rely on Strength deal half damage. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn’t weakened.

Bonus Actions

Nimble Escape. The stalker can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of its turns.

Perseverance (2/ short rest). Yopek focuses on his internal energies, and regains 1d10+17 hit points.

Reactions

Necrotic Ward. Yopec shields an ally from attack. When Yopec sees a creature make an attack roll against an ally within 10 feet of him, he can impose disadvantage on the attack roll. If the attacker misses, they take 8 (2d6) necrotic damage.

Death Eater (1/ short rest). When Yopec takes necrotic damage, he can instead take no damage and gain a number of hit points equal to the necrotic damage he would've taken.

Description

Yopek is a child of a lizardborn couple who helped the Ancient Topaz Dragon Nennar in ridding his lair of sahuagin that were attempting to steal the dragon's hoard. As a reward, the lizardfolk were given shelter nearby the dragon's lair and were blessed by the dragon's protection.

Yopek grew up in the shadow of Nennar and admired the ancient being greatly, and Yopek uncharacteristically grew a close bond to the child. As Yopek grew, he was one of the very few with access to Nennar's lair and friendship. In recently times, Nennar has sent Yopek and the kobold Kurd to find the last golden spoon of a collection he has the rest of.
