Description
Long body with red-hot scales and millions of legs. Large head with huge reptilian eyes, big pincers, and 2 big antennae flowing from it. Gives off a faint red glow.
Lair and Lair Actions
It nests in volcanic caves in the Underdark, where it stores the ashes of it's victims. It particularly likes to nest inside of active volcanoes or caverns near the world’s core.
Lair Actions. On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the blazipede can take a lair action to cause the following effect: Part of the ceiling collapses above 1 creature the blazipede can see within 120 feet of it. The creature must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take 10 (3d6) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone and buried.
Regional Effects. Any areas within 30 miles of the blazipede's nest suffer from the following effects: All water sources (not including parts of the ocean) are dried up. No water can be found there. Heat waves strike the affected region daily, and anyone caught in them outdoors must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or gain 1 level of exhaustion. If the blazipede is killed, the heat waves stop immediately and the water comes back in 1d10 days.
