Description

“You will rarely find us talking. We don’t socialize, but we aren’t mindless idiots. We aren’t powerful because we don’t need to be. We’d rather be left out of the problems of the world, living life until we die peacefully. The desert is our happy, peaceful place; Please don’t take away our only adaptable home.”

-A female captured Bearded Dragon at a fair

Peaceful Lives

Bearded Dragon are solitary creatures, timid to new beings entering their territory. Bearded Dragons will not lash out and attack anyone who comes near them; rather they would try to negotiate with the newcomer to leave. If provoked, Bearded Dragons will hide rather than fight. Bearded Dragons only long for peace over all things.

Insectivores

Bearded Dragons will only eat insects and certain plants, and will eat cactus whenever they do find it. Any creature resembling an insect or spider will be seen as a target for food; even if the creature is a different one disguised or cursed. Bearded Dragons will not fess up a chance for food, even if the food is intelligent and could give them something else.

Rare Oddities

Bearded Dragons are rather scarce in the desert, so it makes them seem rare in other places. Scholars and circus owners hunt this creature down to study or show it off, and they are of no value if killed. They have no magical properties, and the only valuable part of them are their wings, which are much like a dragon’s, but the color and texture of sand. Captured Bearded Dragons will not fight; only try to talk into releasing them back home.

Unlikely Travelers

Bearded Dragons do not seem like they would be travelers, but they do travel across lands to get to other deserts and visit new Bearded Dragons. They often do this to make sure that they aren’t going extinct. Bearded Dragons do not keep lairs, because they are constantly flying around the desert in search of food and water.

Radiance

Bearded Dragons absorb the sun’s ray and convert it into magic and power. They can emit radiance so long as they have absorbed two hours of sunlight, and the radiance gets stronger the longer they have been in the sun.

Adorable Appearance

Bearded Dragons resemble their smaller and more common relatives, the normal lizard called also a bearded dragon, but they have wings and small horns and viciously sharp claws. Any female humanoid will fall for its cuteness if it gets angry, in which it will promptly stick its tongue out and make a face. Some male humanoids fall to it too, although the Bearded Dragon does not enjoy it when anyone loves it from being angry.
