Description
"The trees rustle softly overhead, the soft pitter-patter of gentle, misty rain against the leaves overhead create calming white noise. You close your eyes to listen to the rain, to feel the droplets on your skin. Your companion looks and seems to radiate a sense of urgency - of fear and worry. You don't understand why.
'What's the problem, friend?' you speak softly to them, smiling as the water douses you, cooling your mildly sunburnt skin.
'We should hurry out of the forests, before it catches us..!' your friend says under their breath, looking around anxiously. You have no idea what they're talking about, and while you are absorbed with trying to figure out what they meant - that gentle rain turns to a torrential downpour, accompanied by a dense fog that hugs you around your waist, climbing up your ankles and chilling your very bones.
You are overwhelmed with sadness, tears spring to your eyes as you are frozen in place by this crippling emotional agony, your friend has dropped to their knees weeping now - for fear or for sadness, you do not know...
Then you see them. Two dripping, luminescent eyes, peering out at you from the fog... You remember now an old wives' tale from your youth - The Weeping Wolf.
Your mysterious anguish is more explainable now, as you accept your fate, and make peace with your death."
Bony spines protrude from its haunches, leg joints, along its back, and two straight horns poke out between it's large, focused ears. Midnight blue fur ripples over tensed muscle fibers, a glowing gold-white fluid drips from its illuminated sockets - the wolf has no fur or tissue on its face, exposing a bony canine skull from the ears forward, to the snout and half of their lower jaws. These beasts are a force to be reckoned with, their piercing stare is petrifying to say the least, their bite is worse, and their tears are acidic...
Most Weeping Wolves have twine-woven collars with components for the "Evoke Emotion" spell, some have something akin to a druidic focus strung around their necks for spellcasting, their intelligence can vary, along with their ability to comprehend languages and morality. Though, the majority of them are simply very smart beasts, some have become wizzened through their years, and take on a very... freethinking ad sentient disposition, almost as if they are human.
