Levitate. Regardless of the presence of wings, the beast is able to levitate, granting it a fly speed of 20 feet. Its preferred method of travel may vary on its appearance.
Arcane Sight. Magical darkness doesn't impede the beast's darkvision. Additionally, the beast can see the true form of any shapechanger or creature concealed by illusion or transmutation magic while the creature is within 30 feet and within line of sight.
Telepathy. The beast can communicate with a creature it shares a language with within 200 feet. Magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood blocks the effect. This doesn’t have to follow a straight line and can travel freely around corners or through openings.
Resistance. The beast has resistance to non-silvered physical attacks.
Clear Mind. The beast cannot be charmed and has advantage on saving throws against being feared.
Familiar. The beast can enter into a contract to serve another creature as a familiar, forming a Telepathic Bond with its willing master. While the two are bonded, the master can sense what the imp senses as long as they are within 1 mile of each other. While the imp is within 10 feet of its master, the master shares the beast’s Clear Mind trait. If its master violates the terms of the contract, the imp can end its service as a familiar, ending the Telepathic Bond.
Invisibility. The beast magically turns invisible until it attacks or until its concentration ends (as if concentrating on a spell). Any equipment the beast wears or carries is invisible with it. The beast may also choose for specific creatures to be able to see it, and can change their selection as an action.
Probe Thoughts. The beast can use an action to attempt to read the mind and heart of a creature it can see within 30 feet. The beast automatically knows its disposition and attitude. If the creature fails a DC 10 charisma check, the familiar knows its alignment and most recent thought.
Description
Astral beasts are small, slightly familiar looking animals with some oddities present, such ass additional tails, gems in their foreheads, wings, etc. The features vary from creature to creature.
Their appearance depends on their alignment and faction, and they may take such forms as a nekomata, kitsune, or other form. This form usually does not change.
The frequently act as familiars for Astral Guardian warlocks or are scouting to recruit them and are rarely otherwise seen in the wild.
