Poisoned Strikes. The kython's Bite attack deals an extra 7 (2d6) poison damage (included in the attack). If the target of an attack is a living creature, it must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or become poisoned for 1 minute. While poisoned in this manner, the target's Strength score is reduced by 1d6. An affected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Kython Weaponry. The kython has a 30% chance to possess one of the kython weapons detailed in its Characteristics. Depending on which weapon it possesses, the CR of the kython may be higher.
Adaptable Poison. Whenever the kython deals poison damage to a creature that is normally resistant, or immune, the kython instead deals acid damage to that target.
Multiattack. The kython makes four attacks: one with its Bite, and three with its Claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d12 + 3) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) poison damage.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it begins bleeding. While bleeding in this manner, an affected creature cannot regain hit points until it succeeds on a DC 15 Wisdom (Medicine) check. An affected creature can choose to expend all of their movement to attempt the check, otherwise it requires an action.
Damage Adaptation. As a reaction to taking damage, the kython can momentarily shift its biology to reduce that damage by 7 (2d6).
Description
When a group of powerful fiends were trapped on the Material Plane, they attempted to create more of their kind through magical means. The result was a swarm of little, eyeless, reptilian creatures that displayed some insectoid traits as well. As these creatures matured, they took on varied forms. None of them were loyal to the fiends that created them, but they were wholly evil nonetheless. Their creators called them kythons. Because of their origin, they have been called earth-bound demons as well. Kythons have spread throughout the world, breeding rapidly. Their eggs look like wet, mucus-covered stones. They seem interested only in eating and propagating their species; they are entirely without mercy, pity, or compassion for any other creature. As they mature, each answers only to those more powerful than themselves, so slaughterkings are the highest kython authority—at least so far. Given time, the kythons may grow into new forms that are even more specialized and powerful. Kythons speak a strange smattering of both Infernal and Abyssal, but only to each other, never to others. Broodlings do not speak, but understand the commands of other kythons.
Adult Kython
When kythons mature fully, their torso grows so that they become a little more like upright humanoids (although they still usually hunch over). Their tail drops away as they pass into this stage, but they gain another set of clawed arms. The exoskeleton is now either green, dark blue, or black. Adult kythons’ bodily fluids become less poisonous, but they develop poison sacs in their mouth with a new type of venom.
Adults guard the nests and carry out most of the work that needs doing for kython society as a whole. Most kythons remain in this stage forever. A few mature into more specialized stages, most of these becoming impalers, a few transforming into slaymasters, and very rare individuals becoming slaughterkings.

On a failed saving throw, the target is covered in a slimy mucus and considered restrained for 1d4 + 1 rounds. Alcohol will wash away the mucus if applied with an action, otherwise the restrained target can attempt a Strength saving throw with the same DC as the initial save at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Phase Organ

Special: this small fleshy pod permanently grafts itself to the forehead of the kython. This organ allows the kython to cast the misty step once per turn.
A kython with this equipment attached, has its CR increased by 1.
