False Appearance. While the tree remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a normal tree.
Vampiric Leaves. The Vampire Tree uses its leaves as attacking weapons. They are released from the branches to float downward and attempt to attach themselves to a warm-blooded body. When attached, they suck blood. The leaves have a drift range of 120', but will return to the tree if carried further away.
Multiattack. The tree can control up to 10 leaves at a time. It may drop them all at once, or in smaller groups.
Blood Drain. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach touch, one creature per. Hit: 6 (2d4 + 4) piercing damage, and the leaf attaches to the target. While attached, the leaf fills with blood and at the start of each of the Vampire Tree's turns, the target loses 6 (2d4 + 4) hit points due to blood loss.
The leaves are AC11, and each has only 2 hit points, plus any hit points drained from the victim. Each leaf can absorb 12 hit points of blood before they fall off and burrow into the ground, germinating a new Vampire Tree.
Description
Vampire Trees are a plague upon any world in which they are found. Disguising itself as an ordinary tree, the Vampire Tree will drop its fluttering leaves upon unsuspecting creatures passing near it, drawing blood to perpetuate itself. Often planted in groves surrounding a wizard's tower as silent and deadly guardians, the trees soon spread to the surrounding countryside, consuming all animal life.
