Traits

Alpha's Leadership. The alpha bolsters the lesser beasts in their pack with their presence. All lesser creatures of the same species within a 20 ft radius get a +2 to attack rolls.

Description

A fully matured Jugnar, who's proved themselves among their kind to be worthy to follow. The Alpha Jugnar is a reptilian quadruped who's become as large as a horse. They show off a bright yellow scale hide with frills grown from the top of the head to the end of the tail. They also have adapted to they're swamp environment, and evolved to grow dark green leaves with pink tips around the neck to cover up they're massive bodies for an ambush. 

Lair and Lair Actions

Alpha Jugnar and their packs are native to swamps and rain forests. A kin to originating in the Gastric Swamps where they hide among the heavy branches, waiting to ambush small prey or adventuring parties.  

Lair Actions

On initiative count 10 (losing initiative ties), the Alpha Jugnar takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the Alpha Jugnar can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • Return to the Trees. The Alpha returns to the trees to hide again, gaining stealth and can reappear anywhere on the battlefield.
  • Mudslide. The Alpha can slam its tail into the loose mud on swamp floor to cause a temporary mudslide in a chosen direction, causing all people in front of the Alpha to become staggered, suffering a -4 on AC checks.
