Exploding Gem. When the awakened gem drops to 0 hit points or killed outright, it explodes, sending shrapnel in a 15 ft radius centered on itself. Any creature in range must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 13) or take 7 (2d6) points of piercing damage.

Actions

Multiattack. The armor makes two melee attacks.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) bludgeoning damage.

Description

A formation of magically infused gems. These awakened gems cannot speak, but use telepathy to convey base feelings and desires. Commonly found in or near a gem dragon's lair, they typically help protect the lair from intruders and will fight to the death. Some believe that if an awakened gem lay dormant in a gem dragon's lair for long enough, one could even gain sentience. This theory has never been proven however.
