Description

The seldom born-rare offspring of a unicorn and pegasus union known as an alicorn whos appearance resembles that of a winged horse with a coat of fur ranging from white to dark gray soar through the skies, a vision of grace, innocence and royalty.

These winged-horned horses are known as alicorn soar through the skies, a vision of grace, innocence and royalty. When they touch down on solid ground, they linger only for a few hours, drinking from mountain springs/pristine lakes and playing with the local fauna. Any load sound or sign of another large creature startles them, sending them off to fly once more among the clouds.

Regal Mounts. Alicorn are highly prized as swift and reliable steeds, being faster and less temperamental than griffons, hippogriffs, and wyverns with more character then a pegasus. However, these playful and shy creatures are as intelligent as humanoids, and so can’t be traditionally broken and tamed. An alicorn can be persuaded to serve a good-aligned creature as a mount with a mechanus oath of friendship & loyalty and when the creature agrees and signs the oath, it forges a life-long bond with its new companion.

Born of the Planes. Alicorn trace their origins to the Olympian winged horses called pegasi and the Mount Celestia horned horses called unicorn. The pantheon of elven gods have been known to send alicorn to the Material Plane to aid good-aligned nobles those in need, saving falling kingdoms and overthrowing tyrannical dictators.

Alicorn Nests. Alicorn mate for life with any other horse like creatures of good alignment, build their nests in locations that both they and their mate can safely reach, and give birth to live young.
