Description
Basking Drakes are headstrong creatures that live in dense forests. Their low profile and short, muscular legs makes them exceptional locomotive runners. Their scales are a muted brown or mossy green, helping them blend in with their surroundings. They're known for living in low canopies, attacking passing prey in headlong charges. They are notoriously aggressive creatures who are difficult to hunt due to their habit of turning the tables on their pursuers as well as running in strange zigzagging patterns to confuse herbivores and hunters armed with missile weapons.
Basking drakes sometimes live in loose communities where the strongest of them acts as a leader of sorts until they're displaced by a stronger rival. They tend to get the honour of leading the hunt and first pick of the feeding afterwards.
