Divinity: Age, Size, Racial and Gender appearance are at the will of the Divine. Does not need to eat, drink, sleep, or breath but can choose to do so for pleasure. Can form a undetectable psychic bond with any other being usually a follower that allows the Divine to access their thoughts and subconscious to hear prayers and deliver dreams for instruction or edification. This bond can be willingly broken by either side. This bond also allows for the granting of divine magic. This Divinity is what also grants Lair and Legendary traits as well as God traits, Regeneration, Immunities and Resistances.
If a Divinity is slain anywhere other then their Lair they will re--manifest in their Lair within 24 hours but be stuck there for thirty days and not have the Divinity trait. If they willingly leave their lair before their 30 days the Lair will vanish and all items and entities within it will reappear on the plane the lair was located. The entity will then permanently lose their Divinity trait and need to regain it in some fashion. Divinity traits can be taken if the entity is slain on their home plane by the one that lands the killing blow. This may not mean the entity is actually dead. If they have a contingency of some sort they may return though without Divinity Status. I.E. clone spell, artifact or sacred location to catch the soul etc.

Description
The tales of gods are vast and many and many to mortal ears are full of imagery and myth. The goddess many mortals know now as Athena was once a goddess by another name and in the future will be known by even another name. While her look, style, and aspect may change.
There are a few facts about the Goddess that remain the same. The virgin war goddess of wisdom, crafts, and civilization. Kind to her allies and those she favors. If you become her enemy, she will show no mercy and laugh at your defeat.
Athena is a warrior wearing her breastplate and helmet while favoring her spear and her dreaded Aegis. The Aegis is an Artifact Shield which not only protects her but can petrify her foes and strike fear in even the fearless.
When she is inclined to be more diplomatic, she wears the finest robes and appeals to the intellectual preferring words over violence because if it comes to violence. She is quite capable.
Athena supports any effort to protect the rise of civilization, art, and craft. This put her at odds with more chaotic wilderness loving sort but she is more conscientious about advancement then other technologically minded entities.
Athena is not a passive entity and can become petty if she realizes a mortal is better then her at anything she claims mastery over. Slightly self-conscious she often times reacts without thinking and lashes out but often regrets such outbursts which is often why when she does, they are legendary events because she so rarely repeats them. Even a Goddess must self-reflect and learn from her mistakes.
Athena's first generally answer to most problems is True Polymorph. If it bothers her, she usually turns it into something else. There are debates though regarding her targets and her motivations. Medusa is a good example. Some argue she struck at her former priestess in a rage at the desecration of her temple when Poseidon forced himself on the former priestess. Others argue she turned Medusa into a gorgon to protect her from future unwanted advances. Either way she uses True Polymorph to help someone or to punish someone.
The Aegis: this large round shield of Bronze bears the image of the face of Medusa. It strikes fear into the hearts of gods and mortals alike and can turn any who look upon it to stone. The Aegis bears the spirit of Medusa within it and will not activate for anyone without Athena's permission. With one exception being anyone can use it against Poseidon.
Lair and Lair Actions
Athena's realm in the vast mountain of Olympus is a place of clean white marble with Owls, Olive trees, libraries and workshops. She has every tool ever made but no musical instruments, she tried to get into music once, She doesn't like how that turned out. She seeks the souls of the best and most skilled folk who will spend eternity doing what they love in building plans, working tools or military strategies which she will then take the best of and pass through muse, and dream to living mortals to make their own.
This scholarly exterior though hides an interior armory of exceptional weaponry and armor. She can call on celestial powers to defend her realm at a moment’s notice and she will always be willing to wade into battle herself.
Her commander is Erichthonius an Empryean and her "son" He serves her loyally and from him comes the line of many great kings.
Lair Actions
On initiative count #20, Athena takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; Athena can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- Calling reinforcements. Athena can summon a champion to appear in an open space. They will wield a shield and spear and both will be enchanted +1 instead of the great sword in the champion stats. She is calling them from Elysium and they are endless.
- Calculated Strike. Athena uses her insight vs a targets deception and if she wins her next spear attack against them will be with advantage and she will score a critical hit if she hits.
Regional Effects
The region containing Athena's lair is Olympus , which creates one or more of the following effects:
- All creatures within 100 miles of her realm and within can understand any language.
- All creatures within 100 miles of her realm and within can reroll any natural one on a crafting tool check.
If Athena dies...wait.. you killed Athena... really?... You took out her Avatar? then you went to her realm got past all her minions, her son, her army, her fellow gods and managed to off her?
NO, no you didn't, unless your a certain Spartan you certainly didn't. But she understands, fair is fair.If you "slay" her. A year will pass and a new Goddess will become known and she will have a different symbol, look, and feel to her
but she will be a goddess of war, wisdom, and craft, and strangely she will absolutely hate you for some reason.

Posted Jun 23, 2020I like it but I don't think anything she had could petrify people. I think she should have proficiency in Int Saves
