Creeping Vines. The awdreetoo spreads its vines in random directions up to 120 ft. away. A non plant creature that comes within 10 ft of the vines must make a DC 12 Intelligence saving throw or be charmed by the vines as it is overwhelmed by pleasant smells and calming visual illusions. A creature charmed by this effect is incapacitated and its speed becomes 0. The vines wrap around it and deal 2 (1d4) necrotic damage to the creature once per minute. Another creature can use its action to shake the creature out of this effect. Any damage the creature takes, except for the necrotic damage caused by this effect, also ends this effect. The awdreetoo regains hit points equal to the necrotic damage caused by this effect.
Illusory Appearance. The awdreetoo uses illusion magic to make itself and its vines look like normal vegetation. A creature within 30 ft. of the awdreetoo or its vines can make a DC 15 Investigation check to see through the illusion.
Vine Whip. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) bludgeoning damage and if the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 12). The awdreetoo can have up to 3 creatures grappled at once.
Swallow. The awdreetoo drags any creatures it has grappled up to 10 ft. towards itself. The awdreetoo then targets a grappled creature of medium size or smaller that is within 5 ft., this creature must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or be swallowed by the awdreetoo. The swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the awdreetoo, and it takes 5 (2d4) acid damage at the start of each of the awdreetoo's turns. The awdreetoo can have only one target swallowed at a time. If the awdreetoo dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse using 5 feet of movement, exiting prone.
Description
Sometimes weeds or unwanted shrubs come under the influence of powerful magic. This can result in a sinister creation, the Awdreetoo, an overgrown cup like plant with a taste for flesh. It might start out by luring in small prey such as insects or tiny birds, but these wont satisfy the venus for long. Eventually these plants always seem to turn their sights on humanoids.
