Spider Climb. The spider can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Web Sense. While in contact with a web, the spider knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web.
Web Walker. The spider ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing.
Multiattack. The Broodmother makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its Spine.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 5) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, taking 13 (4d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If the poison damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but poisoned for 1 hour, even after regaining hit points, and is paralyzed while poisoned in this way.
Hair Spine. Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, Range 30/120, one creature. Hit: (2d8 +2) piercing damage.
Spine Flurry (Recharge 5-6). The Broodmother sprays a hail of spines in a 30 ft. cone in front of her. Each creature in that cone takes 8d8 Piercing damage and; a successful DC 15 Dexterity saving throw reduces this damage by half.
Description
Much larger than a giant spider, a Spider Broodmother lacks mobility but makes up for it in brute strength when needed. Her spider underlings typically bring paralyzed prey to her so she stays in a typically hidden burrow or crevice, laying eggs that hatch into small spider swarms and eventually growing into giant spiders.
