Traits

Immutable Form. The Harvester is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.

Magic Resistance. The Harvester has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Magic Weapons. The Harvester's weapon attacks are magical.

Haywire. Whenever the Harvester starts its turn with 80 Hit Points or fewer it goes Haywire and stays this way until it regains all its hit points or is destroyed. In this state the Golem attacks the nearest creature it can see. If no creature is near enough to move to and attack, the Harvester attacks an object, often reaping and destroying the very crops it was designed to protect. Also its eyes begin to malfunction, shooting wild beams of fire in a 30-foot cone in front of it. Any creature who starts its turn in this cone must make a Dexterity saving throw (Dc =17). A creature takes 4d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The beams ignite any flammable objects caught in the Harvester's gaze that aren't being worn or carried.

Actions

Multiattack. The Harvester makes two scythe attacks.

Scythe. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) slashing damage.

Harvester's Gaze (Recharge 5–6). The Harvester shoots forth beams of fire 100 feet long and 5 feet wide out from its eyes in a direction it chooses. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 17). A creature takes 8d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The beams of fire also ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried.

Description

Clockwork Harvesters were made in the visage of scarecrows and as such were designed to scare or fend off any would-be hostiles of their designated fields. At first glance they appear to be large, bulky, hay stuffed golems. But burn away the hay and patchwork clothing exterior and they are revealed to be immense clockwork constructs. They have scythe blades attached to both hands and a pair of magically infused ruby gems for eyes.

These early prototype Harvesters do not come without any kinks. They are incapable of distinguishing friend from foe and so they attack any who approach the crops, including the farmers.
