For example, if an Efreetikin is bound and the Sah'ir casts Fire Bolt, they will add an additional 1d4 fire damage to the roll.
Limited Range. The Gen can move as it pleases. However, the tether between Sah'ir and Gen only extends so far. No spells can be cast from the Gen if they are beyond 30 feet of a Sah'ir of beginner to adept experience. A more powerful Sah'ir can extend this tether up to 60 feet away.
Spellcasting. The Gen can cast Plane Shift at will, though only on themselves.
Elemental Immunities. The various Gen are immune to the elements from their home plane. Efreetikin are immune to fire, Djinnling are immune to force, Maridan are immune to water, and Daolani are resistant to Bludgeoning, Slashing, and Piercing damage from magical and nonmagical damage.
Hitching a Ride. Due to the size of the Gen, they are able to hold on to a willing creature of at least a Small size or larger. While holding on, they will have a movement speed equal to the creature they are holding on to.
Sah'ir Conduit. The Gen becomes an arcane conduit for their Sah'ir. While the Sah'ir commands what spell is to be used, the spell itself is channelled through the Gen. The Gen can also be used to cast spells with a range of Touch.
Elemental Assault. If the bound Sah'ir does not utilise the Gen as their conduit on their turn, the Gen can make a ranged elemental attack. Ranged Weapon Attack: Sah'ir's attack modifier to hit, range 30 ft., one target. Hit: (1d6 + Sah'ir's proficiency bonus) elemental damage.
The damage turns to 2d6 when the Sah'ir reaches 10th level, and then to 3d6 at 17th level.
Description
The size of a gen varied greatly depending on which plane their were on. Gen on their native elemental plane were slightly smaller than an average human. In stark contrast, gen visiting the opposing elemental plane of their inherent element shrunk to a fraction of their regular size, often standing only several inches tall. Gen found on the Prime Material Plane were usually around a foot tall.
Aspects of their native elemental plane were evident in a gen's physical appearance.
There are four main types of Gen. Efreetikin come from the Plane of Fire, Djinnling come from the Plane of Air, Daolani from the Plane of Earth, and Maridan from the Plane of Water.
