Traits

Denizen of The Expanse. The tardigrade does not need to breathe.

Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, the tardigrade has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Water Sense. The tardigrade knows when a source of water of 5 gallons or more is within 100 ft. of it. It can magically pinpoint the water's location.

Actions

Multiattack. The tardigrade makes three Claw attacks.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (3d6+2) slashing damage.

Conjure Black Hole. The tardigrade summons a 5 ft. diameter black hole in a space that is can see within 120 ft. of it. The black hole persists until the tardigrade is slain, until it uses this action again, is unconscious, or is not on the same plane of existence as it. When a creature enters the black hole's space for the first time on a turn, or starts its turn there, it must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 38 (7d10) force damage on a failure, or half as much on a success. A creature reduced to 0 hit points by the black hole is sucked into it. A sucked-in target, as well as everything it is wearing and carrying except for Artifacts, is destroyed. A creature that dies in this way can only be brought back to life by means of the True Resurrection or Wish spells, or similar magic. An Artifact is not damaged by the black hole.

Each creature within 10 ft. of the black hole that is not anchored to another object must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be pulled into the black hole's space.

Bonus Actions

Cryptobiotic Stasis. The tardigrade enters a state of stasis. While in this stasis, it does not require food, drink, or sleep, is Unconscious, does not age, and gains immunity to all damage. The tardigrade cannot take actions unless there is a water source within 10 ft. of it. If there is a water source within 10 ft. of it, it regains consciousness, and ends this stasis as a bonus action.

Description

Drifting within Wildspace, the Black Hole Tardigrade has been reported to be one of the oldest (if not THE oldest) thing in the realms. These creatures have the ability to affect light and gravity in such a way that they create miniature black holes that can tear through vessels and wreak havoc on predators.

Livestock. Some tardigrades are raised as work animals, pets, or even guard dogs by the various races living within WIldspace. They are known for their superb ability to locate water, something that is highly valued by those traversing the infinite expanse, and make for friendly pets and beasts of burden.

Nigh Indestructible. Black Hole Tardigrades are some of the most resilient creatures around, being immune to almost every form of damage imaginable. Magical weapons and peculiar spells are thought to be the only means of dispatching these creatures. Due to their resilience, creatures that err on the more dangerous side of things keep them as pets - dragons might roast a dog or cat alive, but won't even scorch the tardigrade's outer hide.

Peaceful. Black Hole Tardigrades are gentle giants, drifting through Wildspace in search of microscopic bits of vegetation that cling to free-floating rocks, pools of water, and other forms of sustenance.
