Actions

Multiattack. The ancient fomorian attacks twice with its greatclub or makes one greatclub attack and uses Evil Eye once.

Greatclub. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (3d8+6) bludgeoning damage.

Evil Eye. The ancient fomorian magically forces a creature it can see within 60 feet of it to make a DC 15 Charisma saving throw. The creature takes 27 (6d8) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Curse of the Evil Eye (Recharge 6). With a stare, the ancient fomorian uses Evil Eye, but on a failed save, the creature is also cursed with magical deformities. While deformed, the creature has its speed halved and has disadvantage on ability checks, saving throws, and attacks based on Strength or Dexterity. The creature can repeat the saving throw whenever it finishes a long rest, ending the effect on a success.

Description

This ancient fomorian has lurked high in the Reauxviran Alps for over a millennia, after it was exiled from the Feywild and driven out of the valley by the Siannodel Dynasty. Recently the lax security brought about by the war has drawn the greedy and vengeful creature down into the foothills where it has attacked several farmers.

Lair and Lair Actions

The ancient fomorian makes its lair in a cave high in the Reauxviran Alps. The lair is home to a treasure hoard and a number of crude and rudimentary tools. Central to this lair is an enormous cauldron which bubbles day and night with the fomorian's vile stew.

Lair Actions

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the ancient fomorian takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the ancient fomorian can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • Spill Cauldron (Only once). the ancient fomorian tips over its cauldron, spilling boiling stew in a 20ft radius circle from the origin. Any creature caught in the radius must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking (3d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Henceforth, the area is considered difficult terrain and any creature starting its turn within the radius takes (1d6) fire damage
  • Putrid Stench. Each enemy creature within the ancient fomorian's lair must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw, taking (1d12) poison damage on a failure or half as much on a success.
  • Collapse Ceiling. The ancient fomorian strikes the ceiling with its greatclub, causing loose stones to fall to the ground in a 20 foot radius at a point it can see within 60 feet of it. Each creature within the radius must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking (2d10) bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
