Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the zombie to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the zombie drops to 1 hit point instead.
Relentless. The Zombie Brute can choose to move up to half its movement speed towards an enemy creature at the start of its turn. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Multiattack. The zombie brute makes one attack with its fist and one slam attack.
Unarmed Strike. Melee Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature within range. Hit; 10 (1d10 +5) bludgeoning damage plus 6 (2d6) necrotic damage.
Slam. Melee Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature within range. Hit; 12 (2d8 +4) bludgeoning damage and the creature must succeed on a DC 12 Strength or Dexterity saving throw (target's choice) or become Grappled. While grappling a creature, the Zombie Brute cannot use any other action. At the start of the Zombie Brute's turn, it can deal 10 (1d12 +4) bludgeoning damage to the creature it is grappling as a Bonus Action.
Limb Toss. The Zombie Brute removes one of its arms and tosses it towards an area within 60ft. that it can see. Each creature in a 10ft. area must succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or take 12 (2d4 +4) bludgeoning damage. Once the Zombie Brute uses this ability, it loses the Multiattack property until it regenerates a new limb. The Zombie Brute regenerates one limb every 1d4 hours. At the location where the limb was thrown, 1d4 Crawling Claws spawn. They take their turns immediately after the Zombie Brute in the initiative count.
Description
A fierce and relentless construct of evil necromantic rituals and rites, the Zombie Brute is a desecrated corpse of a powerful creature (such as a goliath, or a hill giant) that has risen from the grave to serve the dark powers that fill the realms. Their aggressive nature makes them favored for leading hordes of lesser undead into the fray, their inhuman strength allowing them to easily break formations, or the unguarded walls of kingdoms ripe for conquering. In times of desperation, the Zombie Brute will go so far as to rip off its own limb and use it as a projectile weapon, making it quite the formidable foe, even at ranges most would assume it could not reach.
