Traits

Constructed Resilience. Warforged Chargers, like the Warforged they emulate, were created to have remarkable fortitude, represented by the following benefits:

  • They have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and have resistance to poison damage.
  • They don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe.
  • They are immune to disease.
  • They don’t need to sleep, and magic can’t them put to sleep.

Armored Protection & Storage. The Threehorn Model imitates the Threehorn of Eberron, also known as a Triceratops. The flared skull plate provides the rider with three-quarters cover, or total cover if the rider attempts to conceal themself. Additionally, the hindquarters act as built-in, armored saddlebags, allowing the Threehorn Model to double it's carrying capacity.

Actions

Gore. The Threehorn Model lives up to it's name and counterpart, outfitted with two large horns on the head and third on its snout. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage.

Stomp. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one prone creature. Hit: (1d10 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Bonus Actions

Trampling Charge. If the Threehorn moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a gore attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the Threehorn can make one stomp attack against it as a bonus action.

Description

The sentient Warforged of Eberron learned to develop their own tactics and strategies alongside their House Cannith artisan counterparts. They developed a series of mounts and vehicles that benefitted specific combat roles. There are rumors that some of these blueprints were stolen and can be found on rare occasions by war buffs, collectors, or otherwise nefarious persons interested in war memorabilia.

Though they are alive through the same blending of organic and inorganic materials, these simpler models of Warforged are not designed to be sentient. Therefore, Chargers are larger, less intelligent, and generally less adaptable than their creators. They are typically designed for a single task: speed and camouflage for scouting, durability and endurance for light infantry movements or cavalry, or simply charging enemy defenses and pounding them to rubble. A Warforged Charger can range in size and can stand 10 to 11 feet tall,  weighing up to 2,400 pounds. To prevent spying or subterfuge, it is programmed to understand only one language (typically that of its creator) and can haltingly speaks that language.

The Threehorn Model was one of the first combat versions produced during the Last War, intended for use as mounts for Knights, Cavaliers, or Dragoons. Their flared skull plate provided protection from ranged and surprise attacks, and the extra storage in the hindquarters allowed additional equipment and resources to extend their range on and off the battlefield.
