Traits

Jack of All Trades. Aurora can add half her proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any ability check she makes that doesn't already include her proficiency bonus.

Song of Rest. Aurora can use soothing music or oration to help revitalize her wounded allies during a short rest. If Aurora or any friendly creatures who can hear her performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest by spending one or more Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d8 hit points.

Spiritual Sessions. Aurora can conduct an hour-long ritual channeling spirits (which can be done during a short or long rest). She can conduct the ritual with a up to four willing creatures (including herself). At the end of the ritual, she temporarily learns one spell of her choice from any class.
The spell she chooses must be of a level equal to the number of creatures that conducted the ritual or less, the spell must of a level she can cast, and it must be in the school of Divination or Necromancy. The chosen spell counts as a bard spell for her but doesn’t count against the number of bard spells she knows.
Once she performs the ritual, she can’t do so again until she starts a long rest, and she knows the chosen spell until she start a long rest.

Spellcasting. Aurora is a 10th-level spellcaster. Her spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 17, +9 to hit with spell attacks). Aurora has following Bard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): Vicious Mockery, Minor Illusion, Thunderclap, Blade Ward
1st level (4 slots): Command, Sleep, Earth Tremor, Longstrider, Silent Image, Guidance (Special range of 60 ft.)
2nd level (3 slots): Enhance Ability, Enlarge/Reduce
3rd level (3 slots): Dispel Magic, Stinking Cloud, Counterspell
4th level (3 slots): Freedom of Movement, Confusion, Grasping Vine,
5th level (2 slots): Dominate Person, Animate Objects, Synaptic Static

Actions

Dagger. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit:  3 (1d4 + 1) piercing damage.

Rapier. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 5 (1d8 + 1) piercing damage.

Vampiric Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage. While she is missing half or more hit points, Aurora gains advantage on this attack. When she hits a creature that is not a construct or undead with this attack, she can empower herself in one of the following ways.
- Regain hit points equal to the damage dealt by the bite.
- gain a bonus to the next ability check or attack roll you make; the bonus equals the damage dealt by the bite.
Aurora can empower herself with her bite four times, and regains all expended uses when she finishes a long rest.

Countercharm. As an action, Aurora can start a performance that lasts until the end of her next turn. During that time, her and any friendly creatures within 30 feet of her have advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed. A creature must be able to hear her to gain this benefit. The performance ends early if she is incapacitated or silenced or if she voluntarily end it (no action required).

Bonus Actions

Bardic Inspiration. Aurora can use a bonus action on her turn to choose one creature other than herself within 60 feet of her who can hear her. That creature gains one Bardic Inspiration die, a d10.
Once within the next 10 minutes, the creature can roll the die and add the number rolled to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw it makes. The creature can wait until after it rolls the d20 before deciding to use the Bardic Inspiration die, but must decide before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails. Once the Bardic Inspiration die is rolled, it is lost. A creature can have only one Bardic Inspiration die at a time.
If a creature has a Bardic Inspiration die from Aurora and casts a spell that restores hit points or deals damage, the creature can roll that die and choose a target affected by the spell. Add the number rolled as a bonus to the hit points regained or the damage dealt. The Bardic Inspiration die is then lost.
Aurora can use this feature five times. She regains any expended uses when she finishes a short or long rest.

Tales From Beyond. Aurora can use a bonus action to expend one use of her Bardic Inspiration and roll on the Spirit Tales table using her Bardic Inspiration die to determine the tale the spirits direct her to tell. She retains the tale in mind until she bestow the tale’s effect or she finishes a short or long rest.
Aurora can use an action to choose one creature she can see within 30 feet of her (this can be her) to be the target of the tale’s effect. Once she does so, she can’t bestow the tale’s effect again until she rolls it again.
Aurora can retain only one of these tales in mind at a time, and rolling on the Spirit Tales table immediately ends the effect of the previous tale.
If the tale requires a saving throw, the DC equals her spell save DC.

Description

Before arriving at Strixhaven, Aurora changed her name and appearance to that of her on-stage persona: Aurora Luna Wynterstarr, the brilliant singer and songwriter. Aurora was born a dhampir (a partial vampire), which she's taken as a cosmic sign that she is meant for greatness.

An accomplished musician on several instruments, Aurora is often found at [[Bow's End Tavern]] performing beautiful dirges on the hurdy-gurdy for the assembled patrons. Aurora is also a member of the [[Strixhaeven Show Band Association]], though she believes the music they play lacks the raw emotion of her original compositions.

She works as a groundskeeper at the [[Strixhaven Stadium]], where she takes great pleasure in using magic to blight undesirable vegetation on the field.
