Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) slashing damage.

Shriek. The argus bird lets out a cacophanous shriek audible out to 300 feet. All creatures within 90 feet of the argus bird that can hear it must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 7 (2d6) thunder damage and is stunned for 1 round. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and is not stunned.

Enchanting Tail Fan. The argus bird unfurls its tail fan as an action, revealing hundreds of eyes upon its feathers, and attempts to lock targets in an enchanting gaze. All creatures in range of the argus bird that can see it must make a Wisdom saving throw. The argus bird can only choose one gaze per turn.

  • Blinding Gaze. All creatures within 120 feet of the argus bird that can see it must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. Creatures that fail the saving throw are blinded until the end of the argus bird's next turn.
  • Dazzling Gaze. All creatures within 120 feet of the argus bird that can see it must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. Creatures that fail the saving throw are charmed until the end of the argus bird's next turn. While charmed by this effect, a creature's speed is 0 and it is incapacitated.
  • Frightening Gaze. All creatures within 120 feet of the argus bird that can see it must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. Creatures that fail the saving throw are frightened of the argus bird until the end of its next turn, and must use their next action getting as far from the argus bird as possible.

Description

From a distance, the argus bird appears like an ordinary peacock. However, upon closer inspection, one finds that this fey creature is covered in hundreds of fully functioning eyes. Argus birds are often kept as pets by archfey - prized for their beauty and more so for their usefulness as alarms.
