Aspid Mother

Aspid Mothers are the mature form of female Aspids. They are larger than their male counterparts, have a limp proboscis, 4 long wings, and 2 black eyes. Their head and proboscis are a creamy beige. Their main body is relatively small, with a light grey underside and a dark grey chitinous shell. Their abdomen is half their size, fully transparent, and filled with the eggs of their young, seperated by an orange goop.

Aspid Mothers are able to quickly hatch their young inside their body and expel them, using them as defence against aggressors. Aspid Mothers rely on their young for protection, and the young also hunt for their mother.  After a certain age, the Aspid Mother no longer has any Aspid Eggs, and can no longer spawn in Aspid Hatchlings.

Shamelessly uses its own young as a weapon against its foes! Appalling, yes, but I do admire its resourcefulness. Good hunters do not always make good parents.
