Traits

Mimic Form. As a bonus action, the unlaricant can assume the form of any Large or smaller creature that it has seen, or turn back into its true form. Its statistics, except hit points, change to that of the creature and it gains the languages, proficencies, features, actions, bonus actions, and reactions of that creature. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. The unlaricant has -1 to any attack rolls, skill checks, and saving throws while it is shape-changed and if it would force a creature to make a saving throw, the DC of the saving throw is reduced by 1. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Unknowing Strikes. While shape-changed, whenever the unlaricant makes an attack against a creature or forces it to make a saving throw and the creature the unlaricant is shape-changed into is within 10 feet of the attacked creature, the attacked creature cannot discern whether the original creature or the unlaricant made the attack or forced the saving throw. After being attacked or being forced to make a save by the unlaricant, a creature may make a DC 14 Wisdom (Insight) check to determine which creature is the unlaricant.

Unusual Nature. The unlaricant doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep.

Actions

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft, one target. Hit: 7 (1d6+4) bludgeoning damage.

Infiltrate. The unlaricant magically reads the thoughts of a creature that is within 60 feet of it, learning its current and future intentions, emotions, and thoughts. If Infiltrate is used on a creature that is unconscious, the unlaricant learns more about its memories and history.

Reactions

Spurred Transformation (Recharges after a Long Rest). As a reaction to taking damage, the unlaricant uses its Mimic Form feature.

Description

A strange amorphous being that stalks on the veil between the Astral and Material planes. An unlaricant is often employed as a spy or assassin who can take the place of their targets once the job is done.
