Higher Sense. The Aluba is capable of sensing the presence of powerful entities. It can sense any creatures that are CR 20+, humanoids that are at level 20, deities, elder evils, legendary magic items and artifacts, so long as these things are within 2 miles of the Aluba.
Power Consumption. Any Force, Radiant or Necrotic damage dealt to an Aluba instead heals it by the amount of damage it would have dealt.
Power Absorption. When around creatures that are CR 20+, humanoids that are at level 20, deities, elder evils, legendary magic items and artifacts, the Aluba heals 2d10 hitpoints every second, or 6d20 every turn of combat.
Description
Aluba are strange exotic creatures that are very rarely seen. They have long thin bodies that are pale green, almost grey. The top of their bodies is covered in dark green armoured plating. Aluba lack eyes, mouths, noses and ears. They have arrow-shaped heads that are almost completely covered in the dark green plating. On the underside of their body they have 8 pure black segmented legs. On the top of their body they have 8 delicate blade-like wings. They have a very thin stick-like tail that is twice as long as their body. The back third of their tail is slightly larger than the rest of their tail.
In folklore, Aluba are often credited with being attracted to beings of great power. Scholars often dismiss such claims, instead believing that they simply glide above lakes of acid to protect themselves from potential predators. In reality, the legends are true. Aluba are able to sense the power of all living things within a 2 mile radius. This power manifests as a soft white glow, which gets brighter the stronger an entity. Aluba feed off of the power of strong beings in order to sustain themselves. Due to this, they are attracted to powerful beings. This includes magical items. Aluba are seemingly unaffected by gravity.
What careless a life led drifting above us all. If one ever comes too close to the ground though...
