Fire's Fortitude. If damage reduces the Blister Zombie to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is cold damage or from a critical hit. On a success, the Blister Zombie drops to 1 hit point instead. On a failure, the Blister Zombie dies and each creature within 10 feet must make a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, those creatures take 7 (2d6) fire damage as the Blister Zombie's fire-filled pustules burst.
Candlelight. The Blister Zombie flickers with dim light in a 10 foot radius.
Smolder. A creature grappling or grappled by a Blister Zombie takes 1d6 fire damage at the start of its turn per Blister Zombie that is grappling/grappled-by it.
Extinguishable. If a Blister Zombie is ever completely submerged in water or buried in sand, dirt, or another material sufficient to completely smother its fire, it loses half its hit points and becomes a zombie.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d8 + 2) bludgeoning damage and 3 (1d6) fire damage.
Description
Arguably the easiest of the burning dead to create, a Blister Zombie is corpse that was reanimated even as it was on fire. Blister Zombies are covered with odd pustules containing barely-contained pockets of fire.
