Traits

Regeneration. The Angel-blooded Moss-heart regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the Angel-blooded Moss-heart takes acid, fire, or necrotic damage, this trait doesn't function until the start of the Angel-blooded Moss-heart next turn. The Angel-blooded Moss-heart dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.

Actions

Mycelium tentacle. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10ft, one target. Hit: 10 (2d10) slashing damage plus 8 (1d8 + 2d4) radiant damage.

Reactions

Spell Eater. When a creature who is within 30 feet of the Angel-blooded Moss-heart casts a spell, the Angel-blooded Moss-heart can use its reaction to use Mycelium tentacle on the creature.

Description

Deep in some swamps, and deep in the Underdark, there is species of lichen that feeds upon magic. Sometimes, they encounter a powerful source of magic, like a powerful magic item. Upon that occasion, they swell with the influx of energy, becoming a moss-heart. In the case of the Angel-blooded Moss-heart, an angel has been severely wounded, incapacitated, and it came to rest, barely still "living" on a patch of this magic-eating lichen. The massive influx of celestial energy quickly transformed the fungi into a unique moss-heart, with capabilities unlike the rest of its kind, and swallowing up the angelic being in a cocoon of fungal matter.
